School cleaning supervisor Karen Wright goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure top standards are maintained at King Edward VI School.
Karen’s positive ‘can do’ approach and routine cleaning and emergencies alike has earned her the title of Cleaning Supervisor of the Year at the Sodexo Service Excellence Awards.
Karen attended the attended the Sodexo’s Service Excellence Awards ceremony and had no idea she had won. “I was over the moon,” she said, “I knew I had been nominated but I didn’t expect to go any further.
“I love the job and the people I work with, the students here are very polite and I have a good rapport with the teachers and bursar.”
Although Karen supervises a “brilliant team” of 15 cleaners – and oversees five cleaners at Stroud School (King Edward’s prep school) – there is one job she likes to carry out herself … stripping and repolishing corridor floors!
