Development Chef
My career began at the age of 15, working as a kitchen porter in my local pub. I was fascinated with the way a kitchen ran and the camaraderie between the chefs. I was fortunate enough to be offered some shifts working in the kitchen which is where my passion for food developed.
I spent the next 15 years developing my skills in restaurants and hotels around Essex before finding my feet with Sodexo.
I started working for Sodexo’s Defence segment as a head chef at Merville Barracks in Colchester. I had some amazing opportunities; working alongside chefs of exceptional calibre. Motivated and inspired, I began to enter competitions, my most noted was the Craft Guilds National Chef of the Year, I was overjoyed to have made the Semi-finals, my proudest moment.
After spending over three years with defence I managed to secure my new role with Independents by Sodexo as one of their Development chefs for the South East, this was my dream role.
I support several Schools in the South East working with fantastic chefs and managers. My role is to support them with functions, menu development, training and ensuring we deliver best class service.
Food is my passion and now I get to work with some of the best chefs in the business, with the freshest and most seasonal ingredients, what more could a chef want!
