Executive Head chef
I first got into catering at sixteen years old: I began working in a care home kitchen where I quickly realised I had a passion for cooking and a readiness to learn more. Over the next few years, I worked in a variety of different types of catering establishments from busy high street restaurants to a historic manor house, which allowed me to learn and home in my skills.
I came across independent school catering in 2011 and I soon realised that this was no ordinary school canteen. No two days were the same. One day I could be producing meals for hundreds of students and staff and then the next day I would be prepping and cooking for a wedding.
Sodexo gave me the opportunity to join them in November 2017; I am now based at Clifton College as Executive Head Chef catering for 1400 students and staff. I could not believe how welcome I was made to feel by Sodexo right from my very first day. Every day is a learning opportunity thanks to the team that Independents by Sodexo have.
