Senior Sous Chef

I have always wanted to be a chef. My earliest memory is of playing in my grandparents’ living room with my plastic cooking set. I started contract catering nine years ago, while I was still in college, covering maternity leave. Since then I have graduated from university with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and was awarded Sodexo Young Chef of the Year 2009. I started with Independents by Sodexo three years ago as a junior pastry chef and now I’m a senior sous chef at a prestigious girls’ boarding school in Buckinghamshire.

Sodexo has been really supportive in enhancing my career, giving me an opportunity to train at the renowned Lenôtre French culinary school and sending me around the country to pass on my knowledge to the younger generation.

I feel really proud to be part of a great team who provide food for 600 boarders plus staff every day, as well as a large volume of hospitality catering.

It’s great working with fresh produce, promoting seasonality and healthy eating as part of the ‘fresh food from scratch’ ethos.

It’s a great feeling knowing your feeding the future!
