I have been head chef at an independent secondary school in Leicester for nearly four years. I thoroughly enjoy my role at the school delivering great fresh food and service daily.
We cater for 1,200 pupils ranging in age from three to 18 years old. Using the fresh food from scratch ethos, we provide for a wide range of tastes and special dietary requirements. My focus this term has been introducing the "street food" concept which has been a tremendous success with the senior school pupils and staff.
I provide hospitality for a wide range of events at the school, including catering for the Leicester Tigers Academy, the end of year school ball and bursar conference lunches, to name but a few.
My passion for food began from an early age. I grew up in St. Ives, Cornwall, where my parents ran a hotel. My mum ignited my interest in cooking when she would use fresh local ingredients: many were the early mornings spent with her awaiting the first catch of the day!
