Renée Executive Head Chef
I worked for Sodexo for 17 years before transferring to Independents for Sodexo at the turn of 2015 to become executive head chef of at a top independent boarding school for girls in Buckinghamshire.
I have always been passionate about food from a very early age after going to a culinary exhibition. Seeing the showpiece displays, I wanted to learn how to recreate what I had seen using only the finest ingredients and not compromising on quality. I have carried this ethos forward ever since. Being part of Independents by Sodexo gives me the freedom to be innovative, using fresh ingredients from scratch, and the ability to lead my team to be the best we can.
Working at such a prestigious school is not only a great opportunity but is the beginning of a challenging and exciting journey to be part of a world class team serving world class food. It is not just great culinary skills that a chef should be judged on but on their ability to turn around any culinary situation at speed.
I am extremely proud of what my team produces every day and we are still only scratching the surface of what can be done. Every day is a new challenge and we are all up for it. Here’s to the future!
