Executive Head Chef

I’ve been working for Independents by Sodexo for nearly seven years and I love every minute of it. Working with such a diverse client base and on events makes it such a great challenge and very rewarding.

I’m currently working at an independent coeducational day and boarding school in Surrey, as executive chef where I look after all core feeding and hospitality, feeding up to 1,500 pupils and staff for lunch and 180 boarders for breakfast and supper. Every day brings its own challenges and keeps you on your feet, from dealing with different diets, writing bespoke menus for different functions around the school and helping to develop others.

Food has always been my first passion and I love to share my knowledge with the next generation. In fact I have recently been to the United States as part of Sodexo’s global chef exchange programme to share with them my knowledge of British food and learn about American food. I thought it was all big and bulky but they actually deliver fresh, quality, healthy food in education sites.

Nothing is more rewarding than being able to have the opportunity to make a difference every day. That’s what gets me up in the morning.
