Bee Day creates a buzz at Strathallan School

Bee Day creates a buzz at Strathallan School

There was a real buzz at Strathallan School as our catering team hosted a bee-rilliant workshop to celebrate World Bee Day, continuing the sustainability theme from Earth Day last month.

Working with the Perth & Kinross Beekeepers’ Association, pupils from Years 3–6 got hands-on with bees and discovered some fascinating facts, from learning that there are 275 species of bee in Scotland to finding out that a single colony can fly an incredible 88,000 km just to make one jar of honey.

The session was filled with energy, curiosity and plenty of smiles, leaving pupils with a new appreciation for these tiny pollinators and the important role they play in protecting our planet. A huge thank you to our guest beekeepers for making the day so engaging and memorable.

Events like this are at the heart of what we do, bringing people together and making a positive difference in the communities we serve.  We’ve been passionate about the power of food to connect, inspire and make a real difference.

Catch a glimpse of the highlights from the day.
