Healthy Futures
Partnership
The Healthy Futures Partnership, a collaboration between Sodexo and the British Nutrition Foundation, has helped enhance our evidence-based Powering Performance programme for independent schools. The Powering Performance programme has been developed to inspire young people to make informed, healthier and more sustainable food choices. It also empowers our chefs to support good nutrition across the school day through healthier recipe guidelines, bespoke training and school-based engagement activities.
Chefs in the Classroom
Chefs in the Classroom directly involves our chefs and our wider development team going into the classroom with a syllabus of topics to choose from. These events also involve our partners from the British Nutrition Foundation and are further supported by our own nutrition team. Popular sessions include the ‘Eat Well Plate’ where younger pupils are invited to taste different ingredients, explore new flavours, learn about the ‘hero’ ingredient and what nutrients do for the body.
The sessions on ‘Powering me, eat well for sport’ are also a firm favourite among pupils. It features the chef’s personal insights along with practical and engaging content. The session also includes a demonstration on the importance of hydration, followed by a live cooking demo. It also provides an opportunity for pupils to ask questions about nutrition, healthy eating, and physical activity.
