SOCIAL IMPACT
Everyone, Everyday, Everywhere
Action is Taken Every Day.
Over the course of the decade, our commitments have evolved, reflecting how much more there is to do to deliver real social impact, how complex the challenges are and how our understanding of those challenges has deepened.

Today
Our new Pledge, launched ten years on, builds on that legacy, evolving to meet today’s complex societal challenges.
It reflects our mission to foster a more sustainable, equitable and inclusive future. With every one of our 30,000 colleagues supporting the delivery of our varied services, taking collective responsibility for the positive change we can make together everyday.
Yesterday
At Sodexo, our purpose-driven history spans 60 years since Pierre Bellon founded the company. We have consistently worked to enhance the quality of life for our people and those we serve, contributing to economic, social, and environmental progress in our communities.
Pierre understood that daily environments—whether at work, school, or hospital—significantly impact wellbeing, productivity, and happiness. He established Sodexo to provide valuable services, from nutritious meals to welcoming, functional spaces.
This approach is ingrained in our culture and extends into our communities. We engage local suppliers and partner with charities to support the areas where we live and work.
In 2015, we launched a Social Impact Pledge in the UK and Ireland, consolidating our positive actions and programs. This Pledge outlines our commitments to colleagues, customers, and communities, and demonstrates how we help achieve societal goals as a strategic partner to the Government and private sector.
Tomorrow
Our vision for 2030 is clear and ambitious:
We will continue to lead in social mobility, offering an inclusive environment with equitable development opportunities, ensuring everyone feels they belong, are inspired, and thrive.
Net Zero 2040 is within reach. By 2030, we will have decarbonised much of our business, reducing emissions across all three scopes by 55%.
Sodexo’s Stop Hunger Foundation will have supported over 12.5 million people in the UK and Ireland.
We will also support our supply partners, sharing expertise, and promoting supply chain diversification, sustainable practices, and innovation.

Our Community Work
Over the course of the decade, our commitments have evolved, reflecting how much more there is to do to deliver real social impact, how complex the challenges are and how our understanding of those challenges has deepened.
Each of the four commitments – for our People, Planet, Places and Partners – represents a truly ambitious target.
