Executive Development Chef

I started my career over 30 years ago as a chef in the Armed Forces, then I worked in London restaurants before progressing on to be head chef in restaurants and boutique hotels in Derbyshire and my native North Yorkshire.

 I joined Sodexo as head chef at Yarm School in February 2015, and more recently have moved into a Executive Development Chef role for the Independent Division.

The person who sparked the interest and firmly planted the food bug in me was my Nan, being from the north east of England we would cook local dishes such as panhaggerty, pease pudding and stottie cakes, real hearty simple honest fare which is reflected in the style of cooking I use to this day. Being a real foodie I enjoy getting hands on with the Sodexo teams, and also really like getting to know our clients and customers. I get great satisfaction delivering innovative events that add spark and interest to the day to day catering offer and inspiring the teams I mentor and work with.
