A man responsible for fine dining and public catering at some of the UK’s leading events of ‘the season’ is now Sodexo’s contract director at Wellington College.
Alex Beaumont decided to take his career in a different direction after 10 years organising the food and drink requirements of events like The Open, Henley Royal Regatta, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Royal Ascot.
Alex admitted he knew little about Wellington College before he took up the job but simply driving along the famous kilometre, the long straight road leading to the magnificent building, raised the hairs on the back of his neck.
“That was the feeling I got before I spoke to anyone about it and that feeling hasn’t wavered. In fact it has got stronger” he continued “I got a really good feeling when I set foot in the place. It really is a fabulous place to work and I’m enjoying working with some incredible people.”
Alex and his management team oversee a wider team of 300 across both catering and domestic serves at Wellington College and neighbouring Eagle House pre-prep and prep school.
